Jean Muir is renowned for her cut and use of fluid flowing jerseys and this piece is an outstanding example of just that and it is in a rare, larger size! The base fabric is her signature jersey that has wonderful drape and movement to it. This has been hand screened/painted with colorful dashes of color from top to bottom. Each seam is top stitched in her trademark fashion in a matching purple hued thread. An interesting fact about her pieces - each of her dresses were made one at a time and by one single person start to finish. This singular attention shows in the quality of her garments. It is cut very loose through the body - I did not pin it in my size 4-6 mannequin just used the matching belt to cinch it in. The cut makes it very forgiving on lots of body types. There are hidden pockets tucked along the side seams and the belt has her signature clear plastic round slip buckle. Excellent, museum quality condition!
Unlined and closes with buttons down the front. Each sleeve buttons to close at the cuff. Original belt is present in also in excellent condition
